Description
The Dappled Willow is a popular deciduous shrub prized for its striking variegated foliage. New leaves emerge pink and white before maturing to green with white and pink streaks, giving the plant a bright, colorful look all season long. Dappled Willow typically reaches a mature height and width of 4 to 6 feet if left unpruned, and it responds well to pruning, so you can easily keep it smaller and fuller. It is a fairly fast grower, establishing itself quickly.
Thriving in growing zones 4 to 9, the Dappled Willow tolerates various soil conditions, including moist or wet soils, and prefers full sun to partial shade. Leaf color is most vivid with ample sunlight.
You will get 5 fresh dappled willow cuttings, about 6 inches long, fresh cut upon your order.
Rooting instructions: Fill small pots with a moist, well-draining potting mix and insert each cutting about halfway down, so a couple of buds sit above the soil line. Keep the soil consistently moist but not soggy, and keep the pots in bright, indirect light while they root. Optionally dip the cut ends in rooting hormone first, and tent a loose clear plastic bag over the pots to hold in humidity. Expect roots in about 4 to 6 weeks, then gradually acclimate the young plants to more sun before planting them out.
