Description
Tundra Haskap (Lonicera caerulea ‘Tundra’) — cold-hardy honeyberry shrub with heavy early crops of sweet blue-purple elongated berries, blueberry-raspberry flavor. Live plant. USDA Zones 2-7.
Tundra is a proven haskap/honeyberry cultivar developed for extreme cold tolerance and outstanding fruit quality. The compact upright shrub grows 3–5 feet tall and produces an abundance of elongated deep blue-purple berries in late spring — weeks before blueberries ripen. Berries have a rich sweet-tart flavor combining notes of blueberry and raspberry, and are excellent eaten fresh, frozen, juiced, or made into jams and baked goods.
For maximum yields, pair Tundra with a compatible haskap cultivar such as Aurora or Borealis for cross-pollination. Tundra is one of the most cold-tolerant fruit shrubs available, performing reliably even in Zone 2 climates. Plant in full sun in well-drained soil. Low maintenance and long-lived once established — an outstanding addition to any edible landscape or homestead.
